The Business Anthropology community joins in the chorus of racial solidarity and strongly condemns the reprehensible murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and other African Americans. These tragic events of institutionalized racism symbolize the racial inequities and injustices that persist in the United States. The extraordinary peaceful protests and widespread support for them have demonstrated that the United States is capable of cultural change regarding racial issues. Some businesses are responding as well. Several are already changing; others are listening and learning from this moment and exploring ways to contribute to equality. As members of the business anthropology community, we support industries that work actively to give every person — regardless of race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, identity, culture, ability, or age — the opportunity to reach their full potential in every sphere of their lives.

About

Welcome to Business Anthropology!

We're a new and thriving initiative bringing together the best of business practices, design, career networking, teaching, and visibility for anthropology in business.

This is a venue for sharing knowledge and resources, making connections, and advancing careers and education in business anthropology.

While this site champions business anthropology, it is not a site to conduct personal business, so mine, share, connect, and contribute, but please do not solicit business.

Our aims are to:

  • Enlarge the discussion on the value of business anthropology intellectually and practically to current and aspiring practitioners, scholars, and employers

  • Share business anthropology scholarship and ideas for educating business anthropologists

  • Enable professional networking and expand career opportunities

  • Post news about Business Anthropology events and developments

  • Provide a central virtual location for all matters in Business Anthropology
